Welcome to Free to Be Me!
We are an innovative, full-day preschool program designed for children ages eighteen months to age six, and yes, we change diapers!
We offer a small, secure and comfortable setting in beautiful Santa Cruz, California.
Our program is one of a kind. We focus on the joy of literature and the development of reading skills. In fact, many of our children enter kindergarten already reading! Our academic program is designed with "fun" in mind. Low stress and zero pressure makes for a fun day of adventure and learning. Our well rounded preschool program consists of daily curriculum, art projects, music, outside play, cooking projects and healthy meals.
Your child will benefit from our small class size. Teacher Lysa holds a degree in child development and has been successfully working with children for many years. Your child will also benefit from our three children per teacher ratio.
We believe that children learn through nature, imagination and adventure. We dedicate ample time for outdoor play and we bring our lessons and circle times outside. You will often find us sitting on a blanket under the trees, singing our hearts out.

We
are located two minutes from Hwy 1 and 41st Avenue, in beautiful Santa
Cruz, California. Our preschool is situated on a large park like
setting with plenty of room to play and run. We serve a complete breakfast each day. Our lunches are homemade and include a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Snacks are offered throughout the day and not just a scheduled "snack times".
